About the Trainer

Hi, I’m Steven Alejandro, the owner of Skill Tree K-9. My journey into dog training started when I helped my parents’ dogs learn not to pull on walks — and it quickly grew into a passion for understanding how dogs think, learn, and communicate. Since then, I’ve completed professional trainer education programs and continue to advance my skills through hands-on work with dogs of all backgrounds and personalities. Along the way, I’ve dedicated myself to studying the psychology of animal learning and behavior to better understand what motivates each individual dog.

At home, I share life with two incredible rescue dogs — Azul, a spirited Husky-Boxer mix, and Buttercup, a sweet Golden Retriever who loves nothing more than fetching toys. Living and training with them has taught me patience, adaptability, and the importance of celebrating progress at every level. My approach focuses on trust, communication, and personalized training that helps dogs and their owners build confidence and connection — one step at a time.
